Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement
Magna Golf Club will provide all employees with a safe and healthful place in which to work. In this regard, Management is committed to the prevention of occupational illness and injury. Management will ensure all legislated requirements and responsibilities are met or exceeded where possible and that the health and safety program is implemented with full cooperation from all parties. Management is accountable for the implementation of this policy and will hold all parties accountable for fulfillment of their responsibilities.
In addition, Management will make every reasonable effort to eliminate hazardous conditions and practices, thereby minimizing the possibility of employee injuries and the resultant suffering and loss of earnings. Management will inform employees of known or potential hazards and risks.
Management will provide and maintain proper work procedures, practices, standards, rules and will provide its employees with suitable equipment and personal protective devices to maintain a safe and healthful workplace.
Supervisors will accept responsibility for planning and arranging their department’s work in such a way as to ensure that safe and healthful working conditions are maintained at all times.
Employees will accept personal responsibility to plan and conduct their work safely and extend their concern for personal safety and health to fellow employees. Employees will report all unsafe and unhealthful conditions to management or a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee in a timely fashion.
The Joint Health and Safety Committee is responsible for promoting and monitoring the safety program as mandated by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations.
Contractors, Sub-contractors and their workers will accept responsibility to meet or exceed Magna Golf Club’s Health and Safety program requirements.
Environmental
Magna Golf Club’s objective is to be an industry leader in environmental stewardship in order to minimize the impact of its operations on the environment. Magna Golf Club realizes the importance of adopting environmentally-friendly practices throughout the golf course and clubhouse in order to achieve this objective. These practices include the reduction of chemical use, water resource management, recycling, energy efficiency, nature and landscape conservation.
The following principles are fundamental in order to achieve our objectives:
- To comply with and exceed where possible, all applicable environmental laws and regulations and conform to generally accepted environmental practices and established industry practices;
- To regularly evaluate and monitor past and present decisions in order to adapt future decisions and achieve the most sustainable outcomes;
- To continue to innovate and introduce new sustainable operating procedures to minimize our impact on the environment;
- To maintain monitoring and reporting systems in order to audit and report on our environmental performance each year; and
- To openly communicate this policy to all members, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders;
- To constantly strive for continual improvement in environmental stewardship.
All employees shall be made aware of the foregoing objectives and principles and shall be required to incorporate and abide by such objectives and principles while carrying out their responsibilities.
The Magna Golf Club is committed to providing the necessary support to ensure that these objectives and principles are achieved.
